Al-Futtaim Expands FM and Fire Safety in Saudi Arabia
Al-Futtaim Contracting has launched Facilities Management and Fire & Life Safety operations in Saudi Arabia. The move expands its specialist building services in the Kingdom.
The company announced the launch at Big 5 Construct Saudi in Riyadh. It brings together Al-Futtaim Facilities Management and the Fire & Life Safety division of Al-Futtaim Engineering. The two units will provide services across the lifecycle of buildings and developments.
Facilities Management services will include sustainable energy management, HVAC maintenance and property upkeep. They will target commercial, industrial and residential properties.
Al-Futtaim’s Saudi offering combines building operations with fire and life safety services across the full asset lifecycle.
The Fire & Life Safety division will provide end-to-end fire protection services. These cover system design, engineering, equipment supply and system integration. The division will also handle testing, commissioning, operation and ongoing maintenance.
Fire safety for complex projects
The Fire & Life Safety offering will serve commercial, residential, industrial, retail, hospitality and infrastructure developments. Al-Futtaim said it can also support technically complex and mission-critical environments.
Solutions will follow Saudi regulations, project requirements and relevant international fire and life safety standards. The division works with technology and product partners including Siemens, Panasonic, TecniKabel, RP-Technik, LDA and PEMALL.
Saudi construction pipeline adds market context
The launch comes amid a large construction pipeline in Saudi Arabia. BNC tracks about $1.81 trillion in active and upcoming projects. Urban projects account for the largest share, followed by transport and hospitality.
Saudi Arabia’s construction pipeline is widening the market for fire protection, system integration and long-term building services.
That pipeline spans many building types that require dedicated fire and life safety measures. Saudi Civil Defense regulations include requirements for high-rise buildings, hospitals, hotels, warehouses and residential and office buildings. They also regulate engineering and contracting activities related to fire protection and prevention.
