Saudi Arabia Plans 14 GW of AI Computing Capacity
Saudi Arabia is working with the private sector to develop more than 14 GW of computing capacity. The expansion will support advanced AI, including physical AI and autonomous systems.
Saudi Communications and Information Technology Minister Abdullah Alswaha outlined the plans at the Frontier Leaders Forum 2026 in Silicon Valley. The new capacity will support advanced AI companies, lower operating costs and improve infrastructure efficiency, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

AI infrastructure moves into focus
The Kingdom’s plans cover generative, agentic and physical AI applications, ranging from public-sector tools to autonomous logistics systems.
Alswaha also discussed the infrastructure needed to support the planned AI capacity. Talks with Supermicro covered high-density servers and liquid cooling for AI data centers. He also discussed high-speed networking for large AI computing systems with Upscale AI.
Saudi Arabia is also exploring energy-efficient computing technologies for data centers. It is expanding AI infrastructure through HUMAIN while seeking to attract global AI companies to the Kingdom.
