The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) is driving Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation across various sectors through data and artificial intelligence, exemplified by its implementation of electronic passport gates at the Kingdom’s airports.
In partnership with the General Directorate of Passports and Matarat Holding, SDAIA has deployed 152 automated e-gates at key airports: King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, and Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah.
These e-gates enable seamless, automated passenger entry, significantly expediting border control procedures.
SDAIA developed and operates these e-gates by integrating them with various systems, including border control, biometrics, airlines, and visas.
