Jordan’s National Cyber Security Centre Reports Drop in Cyber Incidents in Q3 2025

Jordan’s National Cyber Security Centre has reported a decline in cyber incidents during the third quarter of 2025, indicating a relative improvement in the country’s cyber threat landscape.

According to the latest Cyber Security Situation Report, the Centre handled 839 cyber incidents between July and September, representing a decrease of approximately 13 percent compared with the previous quarter.

Most of the incidents recorded during the reporting period were classified as medium severity, accounting for nearly 90 percent of all cases. Low-severity incidents accounted for around 9%, while high-risk cases remained limited to less than 2%. The distribution suggests improved control over threats, although ongoing exposure remains across multiple sectors.

The report also notes a significant drop in attempted cyber intrusions against monitored organisations. Only 11 percent reported hacking attempts during the quarter, down from 25 percent previously, pointing to stronger defensive measures and increased cyber awareness, particularly among government entities.

However, vulnerability assessments of 115 government websites identified dozens of critical and high-risk security gaps, highlighting persistent weaknesses in public digital infrastructure and the need for continued remediation efforts.

Looking ahead, the Centre warns that cyber threats are expected to grow more sophisticated and complex. It calls on organisations to adopt proactive cybersecurity strategies, including continuous risk assessments, regular security audits, advanced monitoring capabilities, and updated threat-detection mechanisms to strengthen national cyber resilience.
