Intersec Special: XPR Has Flexible Access Solutions for a Fast-Changing Market

XPR, a manufacturer of biometric and access control solutions, presented its latest offerings at Intersec 2025, emphasizing flexibility, seamless integration, and long-term partnerships. The company’s Global Sales Director, Thomas Berthot, highlights the importance of adaptability in a fast-moving security landscape.

XPR’s Global Sales Director, Thomas Berthot explains that the company’s primary challenge is maintaining and regaining partnerships in an industry where technological advancements and shifting customer demands require constant evolution. “We already have existing customers starting to move to the new technology,” he says, stressing that delivering what partners need on time is a key priority.

XPR focuses on customized access control solutions, working closely with partners to integrate biometric technology into their systems. As Berthot notes, XPR operates as an OEM manufacturer, allowing flexibility in branding, labeling, and packaging to meet customer requirements.

Biometric solutions and seamless integration

At Intersec 2025, XPR showcased its range of biometric readers, designed for smooth integration into access control systems. A key component of this ecosystem is BioManager, a software solution for third-party integration. BioManager enables RS-485 communication with XPR biometric devices, allowing for seamless fingerprint enrollment through a desktop unit.

For partners requiring direct software integration, XPR offers the option to sign an NDA to access its biometric user protocol, further enhancing compatibility with existing security infrastructures.

Multi-tier distribution network

Unlike many competitors, XPR does not directly sell to end users. Instead, its business model is built on a multi-tier distribution network, supplying distributors, installers, and manufacturers who then deliver solutions to various sectors, including education, healthcare, and aviation. While it can be challenging to track exactly where XPR products end up, Berthot confirms that they have been deployed in airports, hospitals, and schools worldwide.

Looking ahead

While Intersec 2025 is now behind, XPR continues its mission of providing tailored access control solutions that meet the needs of an evolving security landscape. With a commitment to flexibility, long-term collaboration, and seamless integration, the company remains focused on helping partners navigate the transition to next-generation security solutions.
