Motorola Solutions joins Cyber Threat Alliance in Push to Strengthen Public Safety Cyber Resilience

Motorola Solutions has joined the Cyber Threat Alliance as its newest member and the first company from the safety and security technology sector, a move that signals deeper convergence between physical security operations and cyber threat intelligence

Motorola Solutions has joined the Cyber Threat Alliance (CTA), becoming the nonprofit group’s newest member and its first representative from the safety and security technology sector.

According to the Cyber Threat Alliance announcement carried by Motorola Solutions, the collaboration will focus on sharing cyber threat intelligence to help strengthen the security posture of public safety agencies and enterprise organizations worldwide.

The development is notable for the wider security industry because it further connects cyber intelligence-sharing efforts with mission-critical safety technologies such as critical communications, command centers, video security, and AI-enabled systems. For Gulf markets, where governments and enterprises are increasingly investing in integrated security ecosystems, the move highlights the growing importance of protecting physical security infrastructure against more sophisticated cyber threats.

Motorola Solutions said the collaboration will also include the Public Safety Threat Alliance, which it founded and administers. The company said this network already supports nearly 2,500 public safety agencies globally with actionable intelligence designed to help them defend against attacks.

CTA President and CEO Michael Daniel said Motorola Solutions brings a new perspective to the alliance as a provider of mission-critical technologies and as a leader in cyber threat intelligence sharing for the public safety sector. Motorola Solutions, meanwhile, said the partnership is expected to improve early warning capabilities and deliver broader intelligence support to agencies that rely on shared threat knowledge.

The announcement reflects a broader market trend in which the boundaries between cybersecurity and physical security continue to narrow, especially as public safety agencies, critical infrastructure operators, and enterprises increasingly depend on connected platforms, cloud environments, video systems, and AI tools.
