Global Surveillance Camera Market Expected To Hit $118 Billion By 2033
A new Grand View Research report forecasts strong growth for the global surveillance camera market, driven by rising security concerns, smart city investments, AI-enabled analytics, and the growing role of 5G in video surveillance
The global surveillance camera market was valued at $47.91 billion in 2025 and is expected to reach $118.06 billion by 2033, growing at a CAGR of 12.2% from 2026 to 2033, according to Grand View Research.
The report links this growth to rising concerns about safety and security, as well as the wider adoption of IoT and smart technologies in urban infrastructure. It also points to continued advances in camera technology, artificial intelligence, video analytics and edge computing as key factors helping manufacturers deliver more intelligent and capable surveillance solutions.
AI is emerging as one of the market’s strongest growth drivers. Embedded software and specialized systems now enable cameras to analyze video and audio in real time, allowing them to identify people, vehicles, objects, events and behaviors faster and with greater accuracy. The report notes that AI-enabled features can be applied across a wide range of device types, including thermal, infrared and outdoor cameras.
Grand View Research also highlights 5G as an important enabler for next-generation surveillance. With lower latency, faster data transfer and greater bandwidth, 5G networks can support higher-resolution video streaming across residential, commercial and industrial environments, improving image clarity and overall situational awareness.
Among the report’s key findings, IP-based cameras accounted for the largest revenue share at 45.8% in 2025, while outdoor deployment, HD cameras and commercial infrastructure were all identified as major growth segments. Asia Pacific led the global market with a 58.29% revenue share, underlining the region’s dominant role in surveillance adoption and deployment.
The report also notes that demand for remote monitoring, which accelerated during the Covid-19 pandemic, is expected to remain strong, with AI-powered functions such as object detection, behavior analysis and predictive analytics becoming more widespread in the years ahead.
Key companies mentioned in the research include Honeywell, Cisco, Eye Trax, Nokia, Panasonic, Bosch, Teledyne FLIR and Dahua.
