Dubai’s Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) has revealed its plans to establish specialized task forces within 30 government entities across the city. The primary objective of these task forces is to leverage the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in order to revolutionize government operations and services, states Emirates News Agency WAM.
Under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation, the task forces were announced during the inaugural meeting of the DCAI.
Sheikh Hamdan recently inaugurated the DCAI to bolster the technological advancements of the Dubai government and solidify its position as a global leader in cutting-edge technology adoption. The newly formed task forces will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of various initiatives and projects initiated by the DCAI. Their purpose is to foster collaboration, promote knowledge-sharing between entities, and facilitate cooperation with local and international private sector partners.
During the meeting, attendees were briefed on the DCAI’s objectives and its focus for the near future. Discussions revolved around identifying key sectors that could benefit from AI applications and determining the technologies with the greatest potential to enhance government performance.
Another important agenda item was the establishment of mechanisms to foster partnerships between the DCAI and public as well as private organizations. These partnerships aim to explore future opportunities, effectively utilize AI, and improve government services. The DCAI strives to make Dubai an exemplary global model in the adoption of advanced technologies within the government sector, thereby ushering in a new era of excellence and prosperity.
He further elaborated, saying, “These teams will assess ideas and projects that government entities will develop in collaboration with the centre. They will also explore flexible and appropriate regulatory frameworks and policies for AI utilization in the government sector, aligning with both current and future needs.”
The DCAI, situated at AREA 2071 in Emirates Towers, Dubai, was launched by Sheikh Hamdan to support government entities in implementing future technologies across key sectors.
The Dubai Future Foundation, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Media Council, and Dubai Digital Authority will collectively oversee the realization of DCAI’s objectives and outcomes in collaboration with relevant authorities. Their focus will be on formulating legislation related to AI applications and executing the centre’s plans. Simultaneously, they will attract leading global technological solutions and national talents to further enhance the DCAI’s capabilities.
