UAE Cyber Security Council and Palo Alto Networks Launch Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence

The UAE Cyber Security Council has partnered with [Palo Alto Networks](https://www.paloaltonetworks.com?utm_source=chatgpt.com) to launch a new Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence in the UAE, reinforcing the country’s efforts to strengthen digital resilience and accelerate cybersecurity innovation.

Announced during GISEC Global 2026 in Dubai, the initiative is designed to support advanced cyber defense capabilities, talent development, and AI-driven security operations aligned with the UAE’s broader digital transformation agenda.

According to the announcement, the Centre of Excellence will focus on enhancing national cyber readiness through training programs, research initiatives, simulation environments, and collaborative threat intelligence activities. The project also aims to support the development of local cybersecurity expertise and strengthen cooperation between government entities and private sector technology providers.

Officials said the initiative reflects the UAE’s long-term strategy to position itself as a global digital and cybersecurity hub while responding to increasingly sophisticated cyber threats targeting critical infrastructure, government services, and enterprise environments.

The collaboration will also explore the use of AI and automation in cybersecurity operations, helping organizations improve threat detection, incident response, and operational efficiency across increasingly complex digital ecosystems.

Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government, said the initiative supports the country’s vision of building a secure and resilient digital economy capable of supporting innovation and sustainable growth.

Palo Alto Networks highlighted that the partnership combines advanced cybersecurity technologies with local capability development, helping organizations adapt to the rapidly evolving threat landscape.

The launch comes as Gulf countries continue investing heavily in cybersecurity infrastructure, sovereign digital capabilities, and AI-driven security initiatives amid accelerating smart city and digital transformation programs across the region.
