OPTEX launches TXI Series for high-mount outdoor perimeter protection

OPTEX has introduced the TXI Series, a new range of high-mount outdoor curtain detectors designed to improve perimeter protection while reducing nuisance alarms in residential and commercial environments.

Designed to create an invisible detection curtain along a building facade, the TXI Series enables earlier intrusion detection before an individual reaches the protected premises. The detectors are suitable for applications including ground-floor perimeters, balconies, warehouses, office buildings and retail facilities, where a narrow detection field helps define and secure property boundaries.

According to the company, the new series addresses one of the main challenges of elevated outdoor detection. High-mounted sensors typically monitor activity below, making them more susceptible to false alarms triggered by pets, wildlife and environmental movement. While lowering sensitivity can reduce unwanted activations, it may also compromise detection performance.

The TXI Series incorporates OPTEX’s patent-pending Triple AND Logic, which uses three independent sensing areas and triggers an alarm only when all three detection zones are activated simultaneously. The technology is combined with the company’s Super Multidimensional Analysis (SMDA) digital signal processing, which analyzes multiple characteristics of detected movement to filter environmental noise and deliver more stable detection under changing outdoor conditions.

The detectors support installation heights from 2.2 to 4 meters and provide a 12 m × 2.4 m curtain coverage area. The range also features an optional look-down zone, tamper protection, an integrated accelerometer and anti-masking on dual-technology models. Available in both wired and battery-powered versions, the TXI Series includes four models designed to accommodate a variety of perimeter security installations.
