Kaspersky, Qassim University Team up to Strengthen Cybersecurity education in KSA

Kaspersky has signed a cooperation agreement with Qassim University to enhance cybersecurity education and professional training for students and faculty members.

The partnership will focus on developing and implementing joint educational and scientific initiatives aimed at advancing both basic and professional cybersecurity learning. As part of the agreement, Qassim University will be able to integrate Kaspersky’s educational materials, information resources and software tools—along with selected products—into its training programmes and academic activities.

The collaboration is designed to help create a more stimulating learning environment and broaden cybersecurity competencies among students, supported by knowledge exchange, workshops, specialised programmes and structured professional training aligned with the needs of the cybersecurity job market.

Key areas of cooperation include raising cybersecurity awareness among university students and staff, supporting talented young people in studying relevant technologies and software, developing specialised educational content and embedding it into academic curricula, and expanding advanced training. The initiative also includes support for university professors, with the aim of strengthening professional interaction among specialists in the field.

Mohamad Hashem, General Manager for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain at Kaspersky, said building strong cybersecurity capabilities starts with education, adding that the cooperation will support practical skills development and help prepare students and teachers to meet evolving cyber challenges. He noted that the agreement reflects Kaspersky’s long-term commitment to knowledge sharing and capacity building in the Kingdom.
