Genetec is calling on enterprise physical security leaders to take a governance-led approach to cloud adoption, arguing that secure modernization depends on long-term oversight, resilience, and operational control. Marking World Cloud Security Day, the company said enterprises should avoid treating cloud as a simple migration project and instead focus on how cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments will be managed over time.

Drawing on its 2026 State of Physical Security Survey, Genetec said hybrid cloud is increasingly adopted for scalability and redundancy, reinforcing the idea that governance now plays a central role in secure cloud deployment. The company outlined priorities, including governance, hybrid readiness, and long-term resilience, as key to successful adoption.
