ASSA ABLOY to Acquire Gunnebo Entrance Control

Gunnebo Group has entered into an agreement to sell its Gunnebo Entrance Control business to ASSA ABLOY, expanding the access solutions company’s presence in the entrance control market.

The transaction is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Gunnebo Entrance Control provides entrance control solutions for public transport, commercial buildings, industrial facilities and high-security sites. The company said joining ASSA ABLOY would support further innovation, improve its customer offering and strengthen its market position.

“I am excited about the journey ahead for Entrance Control as part of ASSA ABLOY. Over the past decade, we have transformed Gunnebo from an industrial conglomerate into a focused technology company. The combined team brings innovative products, strong service capabilities and highly skilled talent to the market,” said Stefan Syren, President and CEO of Gunnebo Group.

Howard Lang, President of Gunnebo Entrance Control, said the combination of the two companies’ complementary strengths would accelerate innovation, improve the customer offering and support future growth.

Following completion of the transaction, Gunnebo Group will focus exclusively on Gunnebo Safe Storage. The company said it plans to accelerate innovation, digitalization and service-based business models while pursuing customer-led sustainable growth.

Gunnebo Group reported net sales of EUR 435.3 million in 2025 and operates in more than 100 markets.
