Hanwha Vision cameras receive BSI IT Security Label

Selected Hanwha Vision Wisenet 9 network cameras have received the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) IT Security Label, recognizing compliance with established cybersecurity requirements for connected devices.

According to Hanwha Vision, the BSI granted the label to 41 network cameras from selected Wisenet 9 X and P Series models. The assessment is based on requirements of the European ETSI EN 303 645 cybersecurity standard for connected consumer devices.

The IT Security Label is designed to provide greater transparency over the cybersecurity characteristics of eligible products. Under the scheme, manufacturers declare compliance with defined security requirements and commit to maintaining them throughout the validity of the label, including reporting newly identified vulnerabilities to the BSI and addressing them appropriately.

The certification is also relevant as manufacturers and users prepare for the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), which introduces cybersecurity requirements for products with digital elements. Hanwha Vision said the principles behind the BSI label align with a number of requirements introduced by the legislation.

Wisenet 9 cameras incorporate security features including Secure Boot and Secure OS, while Hanwha Vision has also implemented ETSI EN 303 645 requirements across the Wisenet 9 platform.

The company has additionally introduced measures including secure storage and software bill of materials (SBOM) support as part of its broader approach to product and software supply chain security.
