Honeywell expands connected fire safety portfolio

Honeywell has expanded its fire and life safety portfolio. The update adds new smoke control capabilities to the NOTIFIER INSPIRE platform and introduces new cloud-connected services.

The company said the latest release of the NOTIFIER INSPIRE platform introduces fully integrated smoke control capabilities developed in collaboration with customers and channel partners. The new architecture is designed to simplify installation and maintenance, reduce reliance on additional hardware and custom programming, and make future system upgrades easier.

The company said the platform helps speed up commissioning and lowers overall system costs. It also supports automated testing and centralized reporting, making compliance and maintenance easier throughout the system lifecycle.

Honeywell has also added a native purge function. During a carbon monoxide (CO) event, the system automatically removes contaminated air and brings in fresh air. During a fire, it manages airflow to help contain smoke.

New connected life safety services

Alongside the platform enhancements, Honeywell introduced several new capabilities within its Connected Life Safety Services (CLSS) ecosystem.

Zone Sync helps ensure floor plans, device mapping and alarm zones remain synchronized as buildings change over time, providing more accurate information for facility managers and emergency responders.

The new CLSS Rescue Assist application is designed to improve emergency response for occupants requiring additional assistance by providing building operators and first responders with real-time situational awareness during incidents.

Honeywell also announced Phoenix G2 Cellular Alerting, developed by USDD, which adds redundant cellular communications to first responder notification systems. The capability is intended to maintain dispatch communications during network disruptions, improving the reliability of emergency notifications.
