Sathish Kumar, Sales & Business Development Manager for the Middle East in Bosch Building Technologies.

Yet, the story did not exactly start in 2026. “For more than a century, Bosch has been striving to meet one of humankind’s fundamental necessities – safety,” says Sathish Kumar, Sales & Business Development Manager for the Middle East in Bosch Building Technologies. The company’s journey began in 1920 with the establishment of an emergency call center in Hamburg, Germany.

“We offer a comprehensive portfolio of reliable and future-proof safety systems – from panels and detectors to software solutions – with full compatibility across the entire system to protect customer investment,” Kumar notes.

Solutions encompass automatic detector series, including multi-criteria and flush-mount variants, user-friendly control panels such as the AVENAR panel series for coordinating fire alarms and event-related messages, manual call points, sounders, strobes, interface modules, special detectors, and video-based fire detection through AVIOTEC.

Planning tools are also available, including an intuitive system planning tool with plausibility checks and tender templates. Users can manage systems remotely, accessing onsite data before visiting the site, creating automated maintenance reports, or providing additional service to customers. “Predictive maintenance is key to preventing costly false alarms, while remote services enable technicians to work more efficiently using remote diagnostics – saving costs, assets, and lives,” Kumar adds.

The company also tests all fire products at internal R&D laboratories, even beyond specifications, to offer reliable systems.

At Intersec 2026, Bosch will showcase several flagship technologies. The AVENAR 4000 detector series uses multi-sensor technology to reduce false alarms. These detectors incorporate multiple sensing capabilities that enable faster fire detection while minimizing false alarms compared to traditional smoke detectors. Smart interface modules enhance fire system efficiency and reliability, tailored for multiple applications. Complementing the hardware is NEXOSPACE Fire System Explorer, which transforms conventional fire detection systems into IoT-enabled platforms. This digitalization provides system integrators with remote insights and enables more efficient service management. A new feature to be demonstrated at Intersec is the Detector Self-Test capability, which allows automated testing through the NEXOSPACE FSE cockpit, reducing time spent on-site during maintenance.

AVIOTEC is Bosch’s video-based fire detection solution that detects flames and smoke directly at their source. This technology addresses scenarios where traditional point-type detectors face limitations: premises with high ceilings, dust-laden environments, heavy fire loads, and outdoor applications. The trained algorithm can identify fire signatures faster than ceiling-mounted detectors, providing early warning in challenging environments.

The breadth of Bosch’s experience is reflected in its market reach. The company provides reliable and efficient fire safety solutions tailored to a wide range of industries, including commercial and residential real estate, oil and gas, hospitality, manufacturing plants, healthcare facilities, hotels, energy and utility infrastructures, and transportation.
