Panduit Turns Customer Insights into New Solutions

Panduit says successful innovation depends on identifying real customer challenges, evaluating market potential, and testing solutions before they reach commercial deployment.

Speaking about the company’s approach to innovation, Panduit Chief Technology Officer Tom Kelly said new ideas originate from customer feedback, field observations, engineering teams, industry partners, and academic collaborations. According to Kelly, all ideas undergo a structured evaluation process focused on customer needs, market demand, and business viability before entering development.

“The ideas that move are the ones that connect to a real customer problem and a real market.”

Ideas that pass the evaluation stage move into development and prototyping at Panduit’s Innovation Center (JECIC), where customers can test solutions and provide feedback before products reach the market.

Kelly said the company remains focused on addressing major industry challenges, including power management, cooling requirements, infrastructure density, and safety, ensuring that innovation efforts remain aligned with evolving customer needs.
