The event was attended by the Assistant Minister of Interior for Technology Affairs, Prince Dr. Bandar bin Abdullah bin Mishari, and NCA Governor Eng. Majed bin Mohammed Al-Mazyed.

The authority stated that the exercise is part of the cybersecurity enhancement program for this year’s Hajj season. It is implemented by the authority to enhance the cybersecurity readiness of national entities participating in the Hajj season and to develop the skills of its cybersecurity specialists to provide the best services to the pilgrims. The exercise included simulating various types of cyberattacks and applying the cyber incident response mechanism. It also included technical and administrative activities to find innovative solutions to address emerging cybersecurity challenges and threats in accordance with the best standards and practices.

The cybersecurity exercise was implemented in Jeddah over two days through a specialized platform that was built, hosted, and operated in cooperation with the technical arm of the authority, the Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE). The platform is used to design cybersecurity exercises and develop scenarios that simulate the latest developments in methods used in cyber threats and attacks. It aims to support the efforts of cybersecurity officials in the national entities participating in the exercise and support work mechanisms in an integrated national system during the Hajj season.
