Gustavo Gassmann, Vice President & Head of Emerging Markets at HID, highlights the importance of this development, saying, “So now we have a better engagement with Google Wallet and Apple Wallet, so we have a much bigger range of options for mobile access, so we are extremely proud of that effort as well.”

This expanded compatibility provides users with more flexibility in accessing secured locations using their smartphones. Additionally, HID maintains support for custom mobile applications, allowing businesses to integrate HID’s mobile access into their proprietary platforms.

Facial Recognition Gets a Growing Portfolio

Facial recognition was another major highlight at HID’s booth. The company introduced a new facial recognition device and revealed that this is just the beginning of a broader expansion into biometrics. Gassmann states, “We expect to have very soon a second device in facial recognition, coming very early, and in the long of the year, and next year we’ll have a complete portfolio in facial recognition.” This signals HID’s commitment to making biometric authentication a key part of its security solutions.
