Genetec Helps Secure World of Volvo Brand Experience Center

Genetec Security Center is being used to support visitor safety and video monitoring at World of Volvo, a 22,000-square-metre brand experience centre in Gothenburg, Sweden

Based on a Genetec case study, World of Volvo has implemented Genetec Security Center to help protect visitors, vehicles and facilities at its brand experience centre in Gothenburg. The venue, created by Volvo Group and Volvo Cars, hosts permanent and temporary exhibitions, performances, presentations and external events, attracting more than 2,500 visitors per day.

Since the centre opened in May 2023, Volvo has deployed Genetec Security Center together with more than 100 i-PRO cameras. The project was managed by systems integrator Granitor. The camera network includes PTZ, fisheye and multi-sensor cameras, monitored by security guards from a central control room.

According to the case study, World of Volvo selected the platform for its ease of use and ability to support quick response to unexpected or suspicious events. Ulf Hermansson, Facility & Security Manager at World of Volvo, said the system allows staff to “see what’s happening and make quick decisions on how to respond,” adding that the team was up and running in half a day.

The deployment also extends to a smaller Volvo warehouse site, where Genetec Security Center is used to monitor the perimeter with thermal SightLogix cameras and PTZ cameras. Through the Genetec Security Center Federation, staff can perform alarm verification and gate control, while both sites use Genetec Streamvault servers.

The case study positions the project as an extension of Volvo’s safety culture, applying intelligent security technology not only to vehicles but also to visitor experience and venue operations.
