Axis Introduces Fisheye Panoramic Camera for 360° Surveillance

New camera delivers full situational awareness with a single device, supporting cost-effective wide-area coverage

Axis Communications has introduced a new fisheye panoramic camera designed to provide full 360° surveillance coverage from a single installation point. According to Axis, the solution enables comprehensive situational awareness while reducing the need for multiple cameras in wide-area monitoring scenarios.

The company said the camera captures high-resolution panoramic views and supports multiple dewarping modes, allowing operators to transform the circular image into intuitive formats such as quad views, panoramic trips, or digital PTY perspectives. This flexibility makes it suitable for a range of applications, including retail, transportation hubs, offices, and public spaces.

Axis highlighted that the camera is equipped with advanced image processing capabilities to maintain clarity across the entire field of view, even in challenging lighting conditions. Built-in analytics further enhance security operations by enabling motion detection, object tracking, and event-based alerts.

The device is designed for both indoor and outdoor use, with a compact form factor that allows discreet installation on ceilings or walls. By covering large areas with a single unit, the camera helps reduce installation complexity, cabling requirements, and overall system costs.

Axis added that the fisheye camera integrates seamlessly with its broader ecosystem of video management software and analytics tools, supporting scalable deployments and centralized monitoring. The launch reflects the company’s ongoing focus on delivering intelligent, efficient, and flexible surveillance solutions for modern security environments.
