ScreenCheck Middle East will bring IDloop’s FBI-certified contactless fingerprint scanner to the UAE and wider region.

German biometrics company IDloop has partnered with ScreenCheck Middle East to bring its CFS flats 3D contactless fingerprint scanner to the UAE. ScreenCheck will distribute the technology to organizations across the region.

The scanner is also listed by ScreenCheck Middle East for identity verification, biometric enrolment, access control and border security applications.

Unlike conventional fingerprint readers, CFS flats does not require users to touch a scanning surface. The system captures fingerprints in 3D and converts the biometric data into standard 2D fingerprint images.

This means organizations can introduce contactless fingerprint capture while continuing to use existing fingerprint databases and biometric infrastructure.

Compatible with existing fingerprint systems

According to IDloop, CFS flats is the world’s first FBI-certified 3D contactless fingerprint scanner. It can capture four flat fingerprints simultaneously and produces 500 PPI images used in government biometric systems.

The scanner uses structured blue light to reconstruct the surface of the fingers in three dimensions. IDloop’s software then converts the 3D scan into a 2D image compatible with traditional contact-based fingerprint databases.

This allows the technology to support both identity verification and enrolment without requiring organizations to replace their existing biometric systems.

ScreenCheck says the scanner captures fingerprints in less than 100 milliseconds. It carries an IP54 rating and supports Python and C++ APIs, along with PNG, JPEG2000, BMP and WSQ image formats.

Potential applications include airports and border checkpoints, government identity programs, banking, law enforcement, smart city projects and enterprise access control.

ScreenCheck’s regional distribution gives organizations in the UAE and wider Middle East local access to the technology.
