Xperix, Alyam Partner on Saudi Public-Sector Biometrics
Xperix has signed a memorandum of understanding with Saudi technology and security solutions provider Alyam Technical Trading to jointly pursue biometric identity, electronic document and border control projects across the Kingdom’s public sector.
South Korean biometric technology company Xperix has entered into a strategic partnership with Alyam Technical Trading to pursue opportunities involving Saudi government agencies and public institutions.
Alyam selected Xperix as its only official Korean biometric partner after evaluating the company’s business track record, technology capabilities, product competitiveness and international experience for potential Saudi public-sector projects.
Under the agreement, the companies will jointly identify business opportunities and cooperate across project development, bidding, proposals, implementation and operation. Their main areas of cooperation include biometric solutions, electronic document-based digital identification and border control.
Xperix will provide biometric products and technical capabilities, while Alyam will use its local network to support project development and licensing, project coordination and implementation in Saudi Arabia. Alyam has operated for approximately 17 years and has completed more than 200 projects for over 50 customers, with experience spanning airports, passports, immigration and law enforcement.
Exclusive cooperation on Saudi public-sector projects
During the validity period of the MOU, the companies will operate under an exclusive cooperation framework for biometric and electronic-document projects in the Saudi public sector. Xperix will not appoint another Saudi partner in the defined field, while Alyam will not cooperate with competing third-party solutions.
Products identified for potential projects include the FBI-certified RealScan-FC fingerprint capture device, the RealScan SG10 ten-print fingerprint scanner and the RealPass-N identity document reader, which complies with ICAO Doc 9303 standards for machine-readable travel documents.
Xperix said the partnership will strengthen its foundation for participation in Saudi government and public-sector projects and support the gradual expansion of its biometric equipment and electronic-document solutions across the Middle East.
