RAKTA has signed an agreement with Uber to launch smart taxi and limousine booking services in Ras Al Khaimah, expanding digital mobility options for residents, visitors, and tourists, WAM reported

Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority has signed an agreement with Uber to enable users in the emirate to book taxis and limousines through the Uber app, according to WAM. The move aims to strengthen the transport ecosystem and make everyday mobility more convenient through smart digital services.

Under the agreement, customers will be able to request taxi and limousine rides through the app around the clock and pay fares digitally, helping streamline the rider experience. WAM said the partnership was signed by RAKTA Director-General Esmaeel Hasan Al Blooshi and Uber UAE General Manager Tala Nsouli at RAKTA’s headquarters.

RAKTA said the step supports the Ras Al Khaimah Government’s vision for a smart and sustainable transport system and represents a significant development for the emirate’s transport sector. Officials also said the partnership will improve accessibility for residents and the growing number of tourists visiting Ras Al Khaimah each year.

According to WAM, Ras Al Khaimah is now among the few cities in the Middle East to operate taxis through the Uber app, reflecting a broader push toward digital transformation and more efficient mobility services in the emirate.
