Intersec Special: Tecnofire’s Balancing Innovation, Certification, and Business Growth in the Industry

Tecnoalarm and Tecnofire Detection participated in Intersec 2025, presenting their latest security and fire detection solutions while addressing the challenges of market fragmentation, certification requirements, and evolving technological demands.
Nuno Tasso de Figueiredo, Global Export Manager at Tecnofire Detection, explains that the Middle East remains a crucial market, driven by significant investments and ongoing construction projects.
Meeting Market Challenges with Adaptability
Figueiredo argues that the security and fire safety industry faces unique challenges due to fragmented offerings and certification hurdles. He notes that manufacturers must navigate different approval processes worldwide, which can slow down the adoption of new technologies. “For a manufacturer, it’s a real challenge and also a cost,” he says, emphasizing that Tecnofire Detection is willing to make necessary investments to enter key markets.
Despite these challenges, the company remains focused on adding value at every level of the supply chain, working with distributors, installers, and end users to provide reliable and adaptable solutions.
Integrated Solutions for a Connected Environment
Tecnoalarm and Tecnofire Detection recognize the growing need for integration across security systems. Their solutions extend beyond intrusion detection, fire detection, and video surveillance, incorporating communication platforms that interact with broader building management systems (BMSs).
This approach ensures that security solutions are not isolated but part of a seamless, interconnected infrastructure. Figueiredo highlights that Tecnofire’s system architecture is designed for scalability, allowing businesses to start with small installations and expand without losing functionality.
“For example, the extinguishing panels can start with an extinguishing zone and scale up to 10, but we can also connect 16 panels with 10 extinguishing zones in a network,” he explains. “But if we need more, we can even do more.”
Knowledge Transfer and Long-Term Collaboration
Beyond offering scalable security and fire detection solutions, Tecnofire Detection emphasizes education and knowledge-sharing with business partners. Figueiredo says the company works closely with distributors, integrators, designers, and end users to ensure they have the expertise to implement and maintain systems effectively.
“We strive to get them to have the knowledge to drive the business with the end users in a perfect way, so they don’t have problems in the future,” he says. By ensuring that partners can operate independently, Tecnofire Detection aims to create a more sustainable and effective security industry.
Balancing Business Growth and Ethical Responsibility
As the global market becomes increasingly price-driven, manufacturers face pressure to reduce costs while maintaining quality. Figueiredo acknowledges that balancing competitiveness with ethical business practices is a key challenge for 2025.
“Production costs became very important for any manufacturer, and we are no exception,” he says. However, he stresses that Tecnofire Detection is committed to maintaining a human-centered approach, ensuring that profitability does not overshadow the importance of long-term business relationships and responsible corporate practices.
Looking Forward
Tecnoalarm and Tecnofire’s participation at Intersec 2025 reinforced their commitment to delivering scalable, integrated, and market-responsive solutions. By focusing on certification, knowledge-sharing, and adaptable technology, they continue to position themselves as trusted partners in the evolving security and fire safety industry.
