HUMAIN Invests $3bn in xAI in Series E Round Ahead of SpaceX Merger

HUMAIN has announced a $3 billion strategic investment in xAI as part of the AI company’s Series E financing round, describing the deal as one of its most significant capital deployments to date

The investment was made shortly before xAI’s acquisition by SpaceX in early February, a move HUMAIN said creates a platform for accelerated growth and deeper technology integration by combining xAI’s AI capabilities with SpaceX’s scale and engineering base.

HUMAIN said it became a significant minority shareholder in xAI through the Series E transaction, and that its xAI holdings were subsequently converted into SpaceX shares following the merger, giving it longer-term equity exposure to the combined entity.

“This investment reflects HUMAIN’s conviction in transformational AI and our ability to deploy meaningful capital behind exceptional opportunities,” said Tareq Amin, adding that xAI’s trajectory—“further strengthened” by the SpaceX acquisition—fits the type of high-impact platform HUMAIN aims to back.

The company said the investment also builds on a November 2025 partnership announced at the U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum, under which HUMAIN and xAI committed to jointly develop more than 500MW of next-generation AI data center and compute infrastructure and deploy xAI’s Grok models in Saudi Arabia.

HUMAIN positioned the deal as aligned with its “full-stack” strategy across four areas: next-generation data centers, high-performance infrastructure and cloud platforms, advanced AI models (including Arabic large language models), and applied AI solutions.

  • HUMAIN invested $3 billion in xAI’s Series E round just prior to its acquisition by SpaceX, positioning itself at a pivotal moment of platform-scale expansion and integration.
  • As a result of the transaction, HUMAIN became a significant minority shareholder, with its xAI holdings converted into SpaceX shares.
  • The investment builds on HUMAIN and xAI’s 500MW AI infrastructure partnership in Saudi Arabia, reinforcing HUMAIN’s role as both a strategic development partner and a leading global investor in frontier AI technologies.
