From Anywhere to Everywhere: Leading the AI-Driven Revolution in Security

In an exclusive conversation with a&s Middle East, Rishi Lodhia, Managing Director of Eagle Eye Networks for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India (EMEAI), shares insights on how the company is spearheading the AI-driven transformation in security. From scalable cloud solutions to game-changing innovations like 5G solar cameras, Lodhia sheds light on Eagle Eye’s mission to transform video surveillance with smarter, more flexible, and future-ready technologies.

a&s Middle East: Given your extensive background in cloud-based video surveillance, what initially drew you to the field of cloud security, and how has that focus evolved with Eagle Eye Networks?

Lodhia:  Early in my career, I saw firsthand how businesses struggled with traditional security systems. They were costly to expand, hard to manage, and lacked the flexibility needed to keep up with growing demands. It became clear to me that there had to be a better way. That’s when I had the idea of using cloud-based, web-driven security solutions. The cloud not only made it possible to create more scalable and flexible systems, but it also gave businesses the ability to monitor multiple locations from anywhere, without the need for complex infrastructure.

With Eagle Eye Networks, this vision has grown further. We create user-friendly solutions that leverage the cloud to address real-world challenges. Over time, we’ve integrated AI and advanced analytics to improve operational efficiency across industries as well as enhance security.

Our open platform not only simplifies these integrations but also ensures businesses can adopt new technologies as they emerge

a&s Middle East: Eagle Eye Networks has been at the forefront of cloud-based video surveillance for years. Could you give us an overview of the company’s mission and what you see as its core value for clients in today’s rapidly evolving security landscape?

Lodhia: Our mission is simple: to provide the world’s most secure and reliable cloud-based video surveillance platform. In a world where security threats are evolving rapidly, Eagle Eye helps businesses stay ahead with AI-powered analytics, easy scalability, and strong data privacy protections. For our clients, this means more than security—it’s about enhancing operations, improving customer experiences, and future-proofing their systems without costly overhauls.

a&s Middle East: With AI being pivotal in video analytics, how does Eagle Eye Networks use AI to transform raw surveillance footage into actionable insights for proactive security?

Lodhia: We use AI to filter and analyze massive amounts of video data, transforming it into actionable insights. For example, our AI-driven smart search feature helps users locate specific events or objects- like a vehicle or person-within minutes, drastically improving response times. Additionally, AI-powered analytics can identify unusual behavior or trends, allowing businesses to act proactively to prevent incidents or improve processes.

We design our systems to comply with stringent data protection laws, such as GDPR, by implementing advanced encryption, access controls, and regionally located data centers.

a&s Middle East: Could you elaborate on how an AI smart search feature works, particularly in scenarios where users search for specific details like “blue Ford truck” or “woman with a purse and green shirt”?

Lodhia: Our AI Smart Video Search enables users to pinpoint specific details in video footage without manually reviewing hours of content. By typing in attributes like “blue Ford truck,” the system analyzes metadata from the video to deliver relevant clips in seconds. This feature is especially useful in situations like theft investigations or locating missing persons, where speed and accuracy are critical.

a&s Middle East: What are some of the challenges and benefits of using this level of specificity in video search? What industries benefit most from AI-enhanced search terms like those?

Lodhia: Specificity improves efficiency, but it also depends on high-quality data input from the cameras. Industries like retail, logistics, and public safety benefit immensely. For instance, a retail store can quickly find footage of a shoplifting incident, while a transportation hub can identify vehicles of interest with ease.

a&s Middle East: Eagle Eye Networks allows LPR to run on any camera through AI. How does this capability work across different types of cameras, and what practical benefits does it offer to businesses with existing camera setups?

Lodhia: Our AI-based License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology integrates seamlessly with existing cameras, eliminating the need for specialized hardware. This means businesses can leverage their current infrastructure while gaining advanced capabilities, like automated gate control or detailed vehicle tracking. It’s cost-effective and gives the business owner access to powerful tools.

The cloud not only made it possible to create more scalable and flexible systems, but it also gave businesses the ability to monitor multiple locations from anywhere, without the need for complex infrastructure

a&s Middle East: Can you tell us more about the new 5G solar camera solution? How does it enhance perimeter security, and what unique use cases do you envision for this technology in regions with limited access to traditional power sources?

Lodhia: The 5G solar camera, known as the Eagle Eye “Anywhere” Camera Direct Cabinet, transforms perimeter security by delivering flexible, infrastructure-free monitoring. Powered by solar energy and connected via 5G, it provides real-time video surveillance in remote or off-grid locations. This solution enhances security in areas with limited access to traditional power and connectivity, making it ideal for construction sites, rural operations, and critical infrastructure like pipelines. By removing the need for conventional infrastructure, it simplifies deployment, strengthens security, and meets diverse environmental challenges. Currently available in the U.S., the Eagle Eye “Anywhere” solution is undergoing testing in other regions to expand its reach and serve areas where traditional infrastructure is scarce, unlocking new possibilities for monitoring and security worldwide.

a&s Middle East: With new integration partners offering solutions like POS and face-matching, how does Eagle Eye Networks maximize the value of these integrations for businesses across different sectors?

Lodhia: Eagle Eye Networks maximizes the value of integrations through the strength of our open platform, which seamlessly connects with a variety of third-party technologies. This flexibility allows end users and integrators to tailor solutions to their specific needs, unlocking significant advantages. For example, businesses can link video footage with POS data to reduce fraud or gain operational insights, while face-matching solutions enhance security and customer experiences in various sectors.

Our open platform not only simplifies these integrations but also ensures businesses can adopt new technologies as they emerge. Additionally, our R&D team continually develops and rolls out new features, giving all customers access to advanced capabilities and ensuring their solutions remain innovative and future-ready.

a&s Middle East: How does Eagle Eye Networks address the privacy and security concerns that come with advanced AI capabilities, like smart search and LPR, particularly in regions with strict data protection regulations?

Lodhia: Privacy and security are at the heart of our operations. We design our systems to comply with stringent data protection laws, such as GDPR, by implementing advanced encryption, access controls, and regionally located data centers like our new facility in Saudi Arabia. This ensures our clients have full control over their data while staying compliant with local regulations.
