DEWA Receives Awards from British Safety Council

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has been honored with six prestigious awards from the British Safety Council in 2024, solidifying its status as a global leader in well-being, health, and safety.

According to DEWA’s official press release, the organization received the distinguished Shield of Honour award in Well-being, becoming one of only two organizations worldwide to earn this accolade in 2024 and the sole recipient outside the United Kingdom. DEWA also achieved the Sword of Honour award for Health and Safety for the 17th time and the Globe of Honour award for Environmental Management for the 13th time. Further cementing its reputation for excellence, DEWA claimed the top honor in the ‘Best in Power and Utilities’ category across all three accolades: the Sword of Honour, Globe of Honour, and Shield of Honour. Notably, DEWA is the first organization in the Middle East to secure all three awards.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, accepted the awards during a ceremony attended by representatives from the British Safety Council, including Roni Kotecha, Chief Commercial Officer, and Stephen Loynton, Strategic Account Manager – International. Also present were Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources; Zaal bin Zaal, Vice President of Supply Chain Management and Quality, Health, Safety & Environment; and DEWA’s dedicated Health and Safety team.
