How Ajax Systems Safeguarded Film Crew Camp in Arctic Conditions

How can the camp be protected from furry intruders in extreme Arctic conditions? Ajax Systems provided a solution to protect Oskar Strøm’s film crew camp during the expedition in Svalbard to document polar bears in the Arctic.

The team lived beside polar bears and asked for camp protection from potential bear attacks. They also faced the invisible danger of carbon monoxide poisoning.

With no infrastructure and extreme conditions, the crew needed a security system that was easy to install, minimal maintenance, operated without cables or constant internet connectivity, and offered protection against CO poisoning.

Since it was the first test run in the Arctic, Ajax Systems provided a wireless security system that withstands extreme conditions. Despite temperatures down to –40 °C, the system operated effectively at –45 °C and provided dependable protection against polar bears and other potential threats in one of the world’s most challenging environments.
