Saudi Arabia Tops Global Government Strategy Index for AI
According to Tortoise Intelligence, Saudi Arabia has secured the top position in the Government Strategy Index for Artificial Intelligence (AI), which serves as one of the key indicators in the global ranking of AI compiled by the renowned company. Germany claimed the second spot, while China settled for third place in this indicator.
Tortoise Intelligence, an esteemed global firm comprising AI experts from across the globe, evaluates over 60 countries worldwide in their assessment.
The global AI index encompasses more than 100 criteria across seven indicators, including government strategy, research and development, competencies, infrastructure, operational environment, and trade.
Saudi Arabia’s AI Strategy Shines
As per SPA’s report, Saudi Arabia emerged as the winner in the government strategy index and secured the 31st position among the total indicators in the classification. The kingdom achieved a perfect score of 100 percent in the index criteria, with its most notable strengths being the presence of a dedicated and approved national strategy for AI, the existence of a government agency, ample financing and budget allocation, and the establishment of national targets for artificial intelligence with effective monitoring.
To further advance its AI endeavors in terms of organization, development, and collaboration, Saudi Arabia has set up the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SADAIA) as the country’s primary reference point.
