Axis Communications is preparing to launch a new AI-powered radar for continuous protection of large outdoor areas.
According to Axis Communications, the AXIS D2124-VE Radar provides 360-degree coverage in all weather and lighting conditions, detecting objects at distances of up to 200 meters and covering a human recognition area of 40,000 square meters.
Designed for perimeter and large-area surveillance, the radar can be deployed on poles, rooftops and mobile surveillance trailers. AI-powered classification helps identify relevant targets, while radar image stabilization is intended to maintain detection accuracy in environments exposed to vibration.
Radar and video verification
The radar can be paired with the AXIS Q6225-LE PTZ Camera, allowing detected targets to be automatically followed and visually verified.
The system uses AXIS Radar Autotracking for PTZ to combine radar detection with AI-powered video classification. An optional double-knock function requires both radar and video confirmation before an alarm is triggered, helping reduce false alarms.
The AXIS D2124-VE Radar is scheduled to become available through Axis distribution channels in Q4 2026. Full detection and recognition specifications will be provided in the product datasheet when available.
