SDAIA Issues 2026 AI Year Guidelines to Align National Efforts

Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority has issued guidelines for the Year of Artificial Intelligence 2026 to unify national efforts, raise public awareness of AI and reinforce Saudi Arabia’s positioning as a global hub for advanced technologies, according to the Saudi Press Agency

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has issued the official guidelines for the Year of Artificial Intelligence 2026, in a move aimed at aligning national initiatives and presenting a unified framework for AI-related programs, events, and campaigns across the Kingdom, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

SPA reported that the guidelines are intended to unify national efforts, raise awareness of the importance of artificial intelligence technologies, and promote high-impact participation from government entities, private-sector organizations, and non-profit institutions throughout 2026.

The initiative builds on Saudi Arabia’s earlier decision to designate 2026 as the Year of Artificial Intelligence, underscoring the Kingdom’s push to strengthen its standing in advanced technologies under Vision 2030. SPA said SDAIA has also introduced an official visual identity for the campaign, designed to serve as a common national reference point for activities held during the year.

According to SPA, the broader goal is to showcase Saudi Arabia’s integrated AI ecosystem and highlight the country’s ambition to translate investments in data, digital infrastructure, talent development and governance into stronger international leadership in artificial intelligence.

For the regional technology and security market, the move signals that Saudi Arabia wants AI adoption in 2026 to be seen not only as a policy priority, but as a nationally coordinated program spanning innovation, awareness and implementation. That is an inference based on SPA’s description of the guidelines and the campaign’s stated objectives.
