Qatar Unveils National Cyber Crisis Frameworks to Strengthen Digital Resilience

— Qatar has unveiled two strategic cybersecurity frameworks designed to enhance its national response capabilities against digital threats. The announcement was made during the opening of the 4th Annual Cyber Governance & Assurance Conference, held under the patronage of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani.

The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) introduced the National Cyber Crisis Management Framework and the National Institutional Cyber Crisis Management Framework. These initiatives aim to ensure rapid response, efficient recovery, and continuity of essential services in the face of cyber incidents. Officials emphasized that the frameworks align with the country’s Third National Development Strategy and the National Cyber Security Strategy 2024–2030.

NCSA leadership underscored the importance of proactive preparedness, capacity building, and collaboration between public and private sectors. They noted that the frameworks were developed to address increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks that could disrupt critical national functions. The institutional framework, in particular, is intended to help organizations mitigate operational disruptions and avoid long-term impacts.

The conference also featured the signing of a cybersecurity research partnership between NCSA and the University of Doha for Science and Technology. The agreement reflects Qatar’s commitment to advancing academic innovation and developing national expertise in cybersecurity.

The event brought together senior government officials, industry leaders, and global cybersecurity providers to discuss resilience strategies and emerging threats. The frameworks are expected to play a key role in reinforcing Qatar’s position as a secure and trusted digital hub in the region.
