Oman Innovation Festival to Be Held in February 2024
The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation in Oman recently introduced during a press conference the specifics of the first edition of the “Oman Innovation Festival”. The festival will be held from the 5th to the 10th of February 2024 at Innovation Park Muscat, according to the Oman News Agency.
Dr Saif Abdullah Al Hadabi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation for Research and Innovation, stated in the article that the goal of the event is to encourage activities in the fields of research, public and private sector, and within the society. The festival is a component of the National System for Research and Innovation, and it is intended for anyone interested in innovation in all fields.
Al Hadabi further added that the event aims to increase awareness of the culture of research and innovation, as well as its significance, ensuring a common space for all the innovators and supporters to gather. Various training courses in different fields are scheduled to be held, according to the Oman News Agency.
Najah Mohammed Al Rashidi, Director General of the Innovation Center, and CEO of the Executive Committee for Oman Innovation Festival, stated in the article that the event will attract about 3,000 visitors daily, as well as 1,000 beneficiaries in training courses and workshops.
A discussion panel will be held during the event, focusing on the challenges in the innovation system and possible solutions. Additionally, the transformation to a knowledge-based economy and investing in the field of innovation will be a topic for discussion, according to the Oman News Agency.
