Dr. Jeevun Sandher, MP for Loughborough, visited 3DX-RAY to see their innovative technology for himself.

During Jeevun’s visit, Mr. Vincent Deery, CEO of 3DX-RAY, emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation, stating, “At 3DX-RAY, innovation goes beyond being just a buzzword; it is central to who we are. Over the past few years, we have expanded and enhanced our ThreatScan line of portable X-ray systems, which are in use by EOD units worldwide. Additionally, our Axis-CXi cabinet-style mail screening, incorporating artificial intelligence and machine learning, is revolutionizing corporate security operations. Our unwavering commitment to advanced technology not only results in world-class products but also generates skilled employment opportunities for our staff, strengthening both the community and the national economy.”
3DX-RAY’s contributions extend beyond local employment. The company relies on nearly 200 UK suppliers, ensuring a robust supply chain that supports the local economy. Impressively, nearly 90% of 3DX-RAY’s products are exported overseas, significantly enhancing the UK’s balance of trade and showcasing the country’s manufacturing prowess on a global scale. The company invests heavily in its research and development, conducting 90% of R&D on-site and allocating, on average, over 11% of revenue to further innovation.

I look forward to the benefits that this government’s Industrial Strategy will bring to businesses like this, including a 20–30% reduction in electricity costs from 2027 for energy-intensive manufacturers; enhanced international partnerships and supply chain investment to support global expansion and resilience; and infrastructure upgrades to improve overall business efficiency; alongside an increase in defence spending including a commitment to novel technologies, and the launch of UK Defence Innovation.
