BIO-key, Maktabi Tech partner on Saudi education security
BIO-key International has partnered with Maktabi Tech to expand its PortalGuard identity and access management platform across Saudi Arabia’s education sector.
The partnership will introduce BIO-key’s PortalGuard Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform to educational institutions in the Kingdom, combining BIO-key’s authentication technology with Maktabi Tech’s regional customer network, cybersecurity expertise, and implementation capabilities. Maktabi Tech specializes in education-sector digital transformation and cybersecurity across Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and the UAE.
PortalGuard provides Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Single Sign-On (SSO), passwordless authentication, and Identity-Bound Biometrics. It can be deployed across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, giving educational institutions a centralized way to manage access to learning platforms, cloud applications, student information systems, administrative platforms, and research environments.
Regional expertise supports Saudi rollout
Maktabi Tech will provide strategic guidance, solution design, implementation expertise, and long-term advisory services for education customers adopting the technology. The company has also committed senior cybersecurity specialists to work directly with customers across Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and the UAE during their digital identity transformation projects.
BIO-key said the agreement expands its presence in Saudi Arabia and supports the Kingdom’s cybersecurity and digital transformation initiatives. The companies will focus on helping educational organizations modernize identity security while providing secure access to the digital services used by students, faculty, researchers, and administrative staff.
BIO-key said the partnership supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 digital transformation initiatives, with the company also positioning its work in the Kingdom as a potential model for educational institutions elsewhere in the Middle East.
