Hanwha adds AI Similarity Search to Milestone XProtect
Hanwha Vision has released the latest version of its integration plug-in for Milestone XProtect, adding AI-powered Similarity Search and expanding access to camera analytics directly within the video management platform.
The new Similarity Search enables operators to select a person or vehicle and locate visually similar subjects across large volumes of recorded video. Available on Hanwha Vision cameras powered by the Wisenet 9 chipset, the feature is designed to speed up video investigations and reduce the time required to find relevant footage.
Through the plug-in, operators can search footage using attributes including person, face, vehicle and license plate without leaving the XProtect interface. Additional searches cover application-specific analytics for retail and industrial safety, as well as barcode data. Hanwha’s Road AI and Vehicle Management tools also support searches by vehicle make, model, color and country of registration.
Search results include the company’s Best Shot feature, which provides a representative image of detected subjects for faster identification.
The integration also allows operators to control standard, PTZ and thermal camera functions directly from XProtect. The latest release adds support for IP audio and intercom integration, while AI object bounding boxes, Intelligent Video Analytics events and virtual lines can be displayed over live video.
Thomas Bille, Vice President for Product and Partner Marketing at Milestone Systems, said the integration allows customers already using XProtect and Hanwha AI cameras to access advanced investigation tools without adding separate hardware or systems.
The update is based on version 1.09.00 of the Hanwha Vision Plug-in for Milestone.
