XPR Group Launches Xsecure: Encryption and Credential System for Advanced Access Control

XPR unveils Xsecure® Encryption Technology, featuring robust AES encryption and a proprietary credential architecture. Xsecure® delivers unmatched protection against cloning and data breaches in access control systems. Seamlessly integrated into XPR devices, it sets a new benchmark for security through encrypted credentials and mutual authentication.

XPR Group, a trusted name in access control for nearly 40 years, is proud to introduce Xsecure®, our encryption and credential system developed to provide access control environments with next-level protection. Designed in-house by XPR, Xsecure® provides a robust alternative to traditional Card Serial Number (CSN) identification. It uses encrypted credentials and secure data management to safeguard systems against contemporary security threats

“With Xsecure®, we provide integrators and end users with a solution that is secure by design. It is built on strong encryption, mutual authentication and exclusive access to sensitive key sets.” says Nicolas von Oberndorff, Product Director at XPR Group.

What is Xsecure®?

Xsecure® is an advanced encryption and credential system developed by XPR to improve the security of the access control beyond traditional CSN-based identification. Rather than using unprotected card serial numbers, Xsecure® allows systems to identify users via encrypted data stored on MIFARE DESFire cards.

It uses the card’s native AES encryption in combination with XPR’s proprietary key diversification algorithm, data encryption layers, and validity checks. This architecture ensures that sensitive information is protected from the point of issuance to the moment of access.

Advanced Protection Against Cloning

One of the central features of Xsecure® is its resistance to cloning. All encryption keys and processes are securely stored within the reader and cannot be accessed by third parties, including system integrators and software platforms. This isolation prevents external duplication and protects credentials against theft or manipulation.

Exclusive to XPR Devices — Seamless Integration

Xsecure® has been implemented in the latest XPR readers, including the Xpro and Xsmart ranges. It is fully compatible with standard access control protocols, including OSDP, RS-485, and Wiegand.

The system supports both card and mobile credentials, and ensures that communication between the reader and controller is end-to-end encrypted, with authentication at every step.

With the launch of Xsecure®, XPR is setting a new standard in secure identification, providing an architecture that is invisible to attackers yet highly effective where it matters most.
