UAE Cyber Security Council Warns of Online Fraud Risks as Students Head Back to School

The UAE Cyber Security Council has issued a warning regarding the potential risks of online fraudsters targeting students and parents during the back-to-school season. According to a recent post on the Council’s official account on X.com (formerly Twitter), cybercriminals are increasingly exploiting this period to launch phishing attacks and other fraudulent schemes aimed at stealing personal information and financial data.

The Council emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant and taking precautionary measures to protect against these threats. This includes being cautious when receiving unsolicited emails or messages, avoiding clicking on suspicious links, and ensuring that any online transactions are conducted through secure and verified platforms.

Parents and students are also encouraged to use strong, unique passwords for their accounts and to enable two-factor authentication wherever possible. The UAE Cyber Security Council continues to work closely with educational institutions and other stakeholders to enhance awareness and safeguard the digital environment against cyber threats.
