KFUPM Triumphs at SUAS 2024, Securing First Place in Prestigious Drone Competition
A team from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) has won first place at the 2024 Student Unmanned Aerial Systems (SUAS) competition in Maryland, USA, triumphing over nearly 70 global teams.
This achievement, a significant improvement from previous years, highlights KFUPM’s commitment to fostering student talent in Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) technologies. The victory aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, emphasizing education and innovation, and reflects KFUPM’s high global rankings and the support from Saudi leadership.
In the Saudi Press Agency article is also stated that the university ensures that students embrace six key pillars: fostering high ambitions, promoting self-reliance, engaging in global experiences, working in interdisciplinary teams, participating in scientific research, and building entrepreneurial skills. These efforts aim to maximize the students’ societal impact and future professional success.
