“Abu Dhabi Emerges as an AI Powerhouse: Study Reveals Astonishing Growth in AI Companies”

A recent study conducted by the Business & Economics Intelligence Sector at the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has revealed a remarkable growth in the number of AI companies registered in Abu Dhabi. Between 2021 and 2023, these companies saw a significant compound annual growth rate of 67%, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a key player in the global AI industry.
The research highlights Abu Dhabi’s ambition to harness the potential of AI systems, applications, technologies, and solutions to benefit humanity and promote sustainable development across various sectors. The Abu Dhabi Chamber is particularly focused on AI investment as part of its vision to elevate the private sector’s reputation and influence in the region. This involves implementing supportive policies and embracing innovation and digital transformation to establish Abu Dhabi as the premier business destination in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region by 2025.

Ahmed Khalifa Al Qubaisi, CEO of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, emphasized the city’s pioneering efforts in advancing AI for sustainable development. He noted that the AI sector is projected to contribute an additional $13 trillion to global economic activity by 2030, equivalent to a 16% increase in cumulative global GDP. These initiatives align with the forward-looking vision guided by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and are supported by the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031 and the UAE Centennial Plan 2071, aimed at positioning the UAE as a global leader across all domains.
Al Qubaisi also highlighted the Abu Dhabi Chamber’s commitment to AI integration, citing its pioneering use of the first AI-powered platform, ChamberGPT. Launched in 2023, this platform has facilitated business processing inquiries in Abu Dhabi and has consistently led international indicators in active platform usage.
